First item is an article in the Cache Valley Daily:
Those who get their television through Cache County's translator system have something to look forward to. They will soon be able to view two new channels: KBYU and CW30.A little further digging turned up this section of the Feb. 22, 2011 Cache County Council minutes:
Cache County Executive Lynn Lemon says those are the channels most often requested and now the Cache County Council has approved spending a little over $21,000 to broadcast the channels from Mount Pisgah. Lemon says, at first, the signals will come by way of a translator on Clarkston Ridge while waiting for the county to get Federal Communications Commission approval to broadcast them from Mt. Pisgah. So when will the new channels be available?
"It will probably be sometime this summer before we get it up and installed," Lemon explains. "Then we'll have to install those two channels on Clarkston Ridge. "
"Then as soon as we get them installed we will apply to the FCC to get them to move to Mount Pisgah. I suspect, we hope that we get it done this calendar year but I'm not sure about that."
Lemon says there is actually no way to know how many people get their television free through the county's translator system. He says all he knows is that when there is a breakdown of some kind the county hears from a lot of people.
So there you have it. If you can't get CW30, or KBYU11, try pointing your antenna West towards Clarkston. And if that doesn't work, be patient. Eventually the transmitters should wind up on Mt. Pisgah with all the other Cache County translators.
Now, if we could only get channel 16.1 ionTV, 16.2 QUBO, and 16.3 Ion Life, we would be all set!
